The growing popularity of sugarcraft and cake decorating persuaded the Welsh Culinary Association to introduce the Cake Cymru show at the Welsh International Culinary Championships in 2011
The 2012 championships, which are held from February 14-16 at Coleg Llandrillo Cymru, Rhos on Sea, are organised by the Welsh Culinary Association (WCA) with sponsorship from the Welsh Government to promote the Wales the True Taste food and drink industry brand.
Cake Cymru is the brainchild of Welsh National Culinary Team member Sally Owens, who is a WCA board member and lecturer at Coleg Llandrillo Cymru.
Designed to capitalise on growing interest in sugarcraft and cake decorating, Cake Cymru welcomes entries from across the UK and there is no stipulation about work not having been shown before.
